Air Force C130 develops engine trouble in Nepal

A C130 plane belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force, which carried emergency supplies, medical and relief workers to Nepal, developed engine trouble and was unable to return today.

The aircraft, which was due to evacuate 35 Sri Lankan students from Nepal, developed engine trouble, which forced the crew to abort take off and return to the parking area of the busy airport of the landlocked nation.

Asked for a comment, Air force Spokesman Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne said the technical fault would be repaired today. He said the aircraft would fly back tomorrow.
