A Castle Street Maternity Hospital employee was interdicted yesterday for allegedly attempting to harass a lady doctor, Health Ministry said.

An investigation was launched after the lady doctor complained about the harassment to the hospital director and the report was handed over yesterday to the Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Nihal Jayathilake.

He said according to the report the hospital employee had harassed the lady doctor and on that basis the Ministry had suspended the employee until further investigations were over.

Dr. Jayathilake said this action was taken to send out a strong message that discipline would be maintained in the health sector including all hospitals. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
