Vote on account debate on Oct. 23

The government will take up the vote on account for debate in parliament when it meets on October 23, an official said yesterday.

The government decided to present it to allocate money for its expenses for the first quarter of next year since there is no time to work out a fully-fledged budget due to the presidential elections.

Parliament will meet on October 23 to approve it after a debate. The House will meet again the following day to debate an adjournment motion to be moved by the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA). (Kelum Bandara)
