The Prisons Department today said that all prisons in the country will cease to permit visitors during Sinhala and Hindu New year season.
Prison Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said that only two guests are allowed to visit a prisoner once a month.
He said this decision has been taken to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.
