Veteran actress Chandra Kaluarachchi has passed away at the age of 76 at her residence this evening, Sri Lanka Singers Association (SLASA) President Janaka Wickramasinghe said.
Chandra, the wife of veteran musician Lakshman Wijesekara, was the mother of Ama Wijesekara and Vihanga Wijesekara.
The body is lying at her residence in Kalapura, Mt. Lavinia. The funeral will be held at the General Cemetery, Mount Lavinia on Sunday (3) at 4.00 pm.
Kaluarachchi entered the cinema industry in the 60s and appeared in films like Welikathara (1971), Dandu Monara (1980), Ira Madiyama (2003) and Pawuru Walalu. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
