Vaccination of prison inmates against the Covid-19 virus, commenced from today, the Prison's Department said.
The inmates will be administered the Sinopharm vaccine.
Prison Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said that inmates at Welikada, Magazine and Colombo remand prisons will be vaccinated under the first phase.
Thereafter, the vaccination program will be implemented for other prisons in the country as well, he said.(DSB)
