Member of the Tamil National People's Front (TNPF) V. Manivannan has been elected as the new Mayor of the Jaffna Municipal Council.
He was elected to the Chair with a majority of one vote, defeating former Mayor E. Arnold, who obtained only 20 votes at the polling today, subsequent to the defeat of the MC’s budget during the second reading. (Sithum Chaturanga)
