A scientist of the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) was killed in a road accident at Kumbuka in Gonapola, Horana last night.
Police said the 37-year old scientist, a resident of Gonapola who was returning home in a luxury car, died after his car hit with a concrete post of a road barrier. His car had toppled.
It was reported that he died after being admitted to the Horana Hospital due to damages to his spinal code.
He was bringing flowers for a traditional 'Kiri Danaya' of his new born child when the accident happened.
The Moragahena police are conducting further investigations.(Bimal Shayman Jayasinghe)
