United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina B. Teplitz arrived at the Foreign Ministry to discuss over the travel ban imposed on Army Commander Shavendra Silva by the US.

The US Ambassador was summoned to the Ministry to inform the Sri Lankan government’s objection to the imposition of travel restrictions on the Army Commander and his family members.

On Friday, the United States said it would refuse entry to Sri Lanka's Army Chief over what it said “Credible” evidence of Human Rights violations in 2009 in the final phase of the civil war in Sri Lanka.
