High Commissioner's report of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) that was taken for discussion at the Council in Geneva has no connection with what had taken place during the war in Sri Lanka, Education Minister G.L Pieris said.

Addressing a meeting held at the Ministry today he said the UNHRC High Commissioner's report focused on the internal affairs of our country.

"The report included the topics that the new government did after the regime change in November 2019 and things that are completely outside the scope of human rights.

This is a direct interference in to the internal affairs of this country, the Minister said.

The report consisted of the existence of foreign political parties and those points have no relevance to it at all.

This story has been prepared using our country as a political football. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
