The Vice-Chancellor of the Sri Jayewardenepura University, Senior Professor Sampath Amaratunga has been appointed as the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The appointment has been made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this evening.
Professor Amaratunga is the senior most vice chancellor in the university system of Sri Lanka and was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the Sri Jayewardenepura University in 2014. (Ajantha Kumara Agalakada)
