Two Police Constables attached to the Mattegoda Police Station who were found to be under the influence of alcohol had been arrested for unruly behaviour at the police quarters last night.
It was reported that the two constables were arrested following a complaint.
Accordingly, they were returning from a hotel in the Mattegoda area after consuming alcohol and behaved in an unruly manner, disturbing the surroundings, when they were brought to the Police station.
Police said Mount Lavinia ASP has commenced an investigation to suspend the two constables following the order by the Mount Lavinia SSP.
