Two breathe their last at polling stations!

Two senior citizens who arrived to cast their vote at the Bekkegama Junior School and Aluthepola Walagamba Maha Vidyalaya polling stations, breathed their last at the polling stations this morning.

The police officers on duty at the Bekkegama Junior School polling station rushed 81-year-old Minuwanpitiyage Garlin Peiris to the Panadura Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The deceased was a resident of Bekkegama and a father of two.

The other deceased was J.C. Seelawathi aged 69, and a resident of Wagouwa.

The woman, who was a heart patient, had been rushed to Minuwangoda Hospital after having collapsed at Aluthepola Walagamba Maha Vidyalaya polling station. (Saman Kariyawsam, Kusal Chamath and Pushpakumara Mallawarachchi)
