Train services on coastal line delayed for five days: Railways Dept.

Train services on the coastal as line between Slave Island and Kollupitiya have been delayed due to the repair works carried out to a broken railway bridge, the Railways Department said.

Due to the said reason, the trains running on dual tracks are forced to use the single track between Colombo Fort and Wellawatte stations.

Accordingly, there would be a possibility of delaying trains traveling from the coastal line to the main line and the Puttalam line.

Due to the temporary closure of the railway track between Wellawatta and Colombo Fort, the railway department has decided to cancel 10 train services on the coastal line today.
