Total Covid-19 cases in Sri Lanka cross 24,000

The total Covid-19 cases so far reported in Sri Lanka exceeded 24,000 with 268 more individuals testing positive for Covid-19.

The Department of Government Information stated that all new cases were close contacts of patients who were earlier detected as positive patients.

Accordingly, the total number of cases in the country stands at 24,255.

With the detection of news cases, the toll of Covid-19 cases in the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster thereby rose to 20,716.

Moreover, there are 6,320 patients under medical care while a total of 17,817 patients have so far recovered and been discharged from hospitals. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
