The total Covid-19 cases in the country surpassed the 27,000 mark with 501 new Covid-19 patients being detected today.
Army Commander Shavendra Silva said among the cases reported so far today, 319 cases are close contacts of the patients from the Peliyagoda Cluster while 182 have been reported from prisons.
Accordingly, the total confirmed cases in Sri Lanka stand at 27,060.
There are 6,840 patients are under medical care while 20,090 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
