Two prison guards and a Prison Superintendent attached to the Welikada Prison have been interdicted with immediate effect over an illegal release of an inmate from the Prison on December 25, 2020, Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said.
He said suspended officers were also subject to disciplinary action.
