Thai airliner makes an emergency landing at BIA

Indonesia-bound Jeddah flight belonging to Thai Lion Air made an emergency landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning due to report on the sudden illness of three Indonesian passengers, the duty manager at the BIA said.

He said the flight landed at the BIA at 2.45 a.m. 

The passengers were handed over to the Airport police and rushed them to the Negombo hospital for treatment. 

Two of the passengers (Female 71 and male 64) had died on admission.

The 77-year-old male was under treatment, he said.

He said that the remains of the two passengers would be handed over to the Embassy of Indonesia in Colombo after investigations. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
