A teenage couple aged 16 and 17 have taken their lives by jumping into the Mahaweli River this morning.
Police said the victims had jumped to the river from a bridge near the Wattegama Railway Crossing.
The Police recovered the bodies of the victims near the Polgolla Dam.
The victims were identified as residents of Katugastota.
