“It is better to take action against Madush and others in Dubai itself without bringing them to Sri Lanka. They could always use loophole in Sri Lanka laws or obtain a presidential pardon,” Dr. Jayatissa said.
“ This is an idea expressed by many over social media these days,” he added.
Referring to Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, the JVP MP said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been compelled to go into the extend of saving former President’s associates in order to save Mr. Mahendran who is his friend.
Dr. Jayatissa who responded to a statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena’s brother that those who put villagers into trouble by lending money at high interest rates should be chased out from villages, said those mill owners who harass farmers should also be chased out.(Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
