The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has arrested an individual in connection with Rs. 3 million fraud involving face masks.
Police said the CCD commenced an investigation into a complaint by an individual in Wattala claiming that the suspect had obtained Rs. 3 million promising to supply a stock of face masks.
However, the 30-year-old suspect, resident of Sewanagala, neither handed over face masks nor money.
The police also recovered 3.5grams of heroin from the suspect's possession.
He would be produced in the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court today. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
