Sri Lanka is poised to achieve today (September 14) a milestone in its mass inoculation drive against Covid -19 by giving full course of vaccination to 50 percent of its population, a triumph only second to the developed countries, Cabinet spokesman Minister Dalles Alahapperuma said.

The Minister told the weekly Cabinet press briefing that such an achievement had been made mostly by countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany.

“Most of the countries that reached such a high target are G 7 countries. They are sometimes vaccine manufacturing countries. This is a triumph achieved with the dedication of health workers, the security forces and all. In fact, those who work from home also contributed to this,” he said.(Kelum Bandara)
