Sri Lanka sends back 82 more garbage containers to UK

Another 82 garbage-filled freight containers out of the 242, that were illegally imported into the country would be shipped back to the United Kingdom today, Customs media spokesman and Director Sunil Jayawardanne said.

Accordingly, 65 containers will be shipped back to the UK by the 'MV EVER GOVERN' ship while seven containers by the 'MV MSC QINGDAO' ship and ten containers by the 'MV MSC LEANNE'.

Similarly, 20 containers of waste had been shipped back to the UK on October 30 while another 130 containers of waste were stored at a factory in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone. (T.K.G. Kapila)
