Sri Lanka and Poland to resume direct flights from today

Direct flights between Sri Lanka and Poland which was suspended since the Easter Sunday attack, will resume from today, the Tourism Ministry said.

Accordingly, Lot Polish Airlines will commence direct flights between Poland and Sri Lanka from today.

The Ministry said Lot Polish Airlines is scheduled to arrive in the country on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This was revealed during a discussion between the Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga and the Polish Ambassador to Sri Lanka Prof. Adam Barakooski today.

Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said that a number of airlines that had stopped operations to Sri Lanka due to the Covid-19 epidemic have also made arrangements to resume operations.

Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, 37 airlines operated direct flights to Sri Lanka and since the reopening of the country, 23 airlines have resumed passenger flights to Sri Lanka. Eight more airlines have resumed cargo operations, the minister said.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
