Spill gates of the Canyon, Norton, Udawalawa and Kukule Ganga reservoirs had been opened this morning due to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of the Central Province, DMC Deputy Director for Early Warning Pradeep Kodippili said.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror he requested people living downstream to be vigilant.
