Six killed in road accidents within 24-hours

At least six persons have been killed in six fatal accidents reported within a period of last 24 hours despite the imposition of travel restrictions.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said this was the highest number of accidents reported within a day after the imposition of travel restrictions.

He said four motorcyclists, one three-wheeler driver and a police SI were among those killed in the accidents.

The DIG said there has been an increase in road accidents despite the imposition of travel restrictions and requested people to be more vigilant on the issue.
