With the temporary lifting of curfew in most districts this morning, Sri Lankan citizens were seen adhering to public health guidelines while shopping for essential items.
Barring a few incidents where quarantine regulations were violated, the public in several districts were seen gathering at grocery shops and supermarkets to purchase essential items, before the curfew was re-imposed. They were seen forming lengthy queues outside stores, managing to maintain a healthy distance between each person, with minimal supervision.
The island-wide curfew imposed on Friday was temporarily lifted this morning, with the exception of eight districts. The curfew was re-imposed by 2 pm this afternoon in Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Jaffna districts.(KAK)
