A team of senior police officers have moved the Supreme Court against the appointment of  Bimsani Jasingharachchi as the DIG in charge of welfare, the first woman to hold such a high post in the police service, Daily Mirror learns.

Jasingharachchi was appointed to the post by the National Police Commission earlier. However, a team of senior police officers aggrieved by this appointment had petitioned the Supreme Court against it.

The case will be heard tomorrow. (Kelum Bandara)
