One must not get deceived by media reports to find out about the local government elections as it will be certainly held, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said.
Speaking at a public meeting in Galle he said the authorities will be compelled to hold the local government polls.
"One must not get deceived by media reports. Media will publish reports saying local government polls will be postponed. Later another report will say elections will be held. Therefore I request the people to ignore the media," Premadasa said.
"We will get the authorities to hold the local government polls somehow. We will fight on the streets for it peacefully," he said.
" SJB will continue its election campaign," he added. ( Yohan Perera)
