The Special Task Force of Police (STF) arrested a 38-year old man at Wanawasala in Kelaniya with a pistol, two magazines and Rs. 27.5 million in cash, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the STF also recovered a 1200cc BMW motorbike from the suspect's house.
He was handed over to Colombo Crimes Division(CCD) for further investigation.
DIG Rohana said the man would be detained in order to ascertain the assets he had earned.
