At least eight people have been injured after a brawl between two neighbour families in Borella following an SMS reportedly sent by a woman to her neighbour, a male, asking "Kohomada Sudu" (How are you darling).
Sources in the Colombo National Hospital said that both the husbands of the families were admitted to the hospital with stab injuries.
According to hospital sources, the woman had sent the SMS to her neighbour and her 35 year-old husband had found out who it was sent to. When asked, the woman said to have told her husband that the SMS was sent by mistake.
However, the man had questioned the 25-year old neighbour whether he has any affair with his wife.
However, the matter had subsequently embroiled and led to a brawl involving all the members of both the families.
It was reported that several people were injured due to stabbing and both the husbands who were in critical condition were admitted to the National Hospital. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
