Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has extended the deadline given for overseas players to register for the fourth season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL).
An original deadline, of May 25, was given for local and overseas players to register, but it has now been extended to May 28 for overseas cricketers.
"We had over 600 overseas players, who are capped and uncapped at international cricket, registering online," LPL Tournament Director Samantha Dodanwela said.
"We are vetting them further, to see if they fit within the criteria, before deciding which players will be available at the player auction."
"Some players and representatives have requested a little more time to register, so we have given them a few extra days," he added.
The player auction, replacing the player draft system used over the last three seasons of the LPL, will take place on June 14.
