SL’s excellence in preserving mangroves to be felicitated at CHOGM

Sri Lanka would be felicitated at the ongoing Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2018 in London for excelling in preserving mangrove forests, Sri Lanka’s Acting High Commissioner in UK, Sugeeshwara Gunaratna said yesterday.

He said the CHOGM was a good platform to highlight and let the world know the measures taken by Sri Lanka to achieve sustainability.

“The summit will provide us investing opportunities as well as recognition of our efforts to achieve sustainability,” he said.

In the meantime, he said President Maithripala Sirisena will deliver the keynote speech at the Business Forum today (18) where he will address a number of representatives from international business community and investors.

“The President will highlight the business and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka during his speech,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the main summit attended by President Sirisena would be held on Thursday (19) and the Business Forum, Peoples Forum and the Youth Forum are also being held in line with the main summit. (Sunil Jayasiri in London)
