Several countries including Sri Lanka, Mongolia and Bolivia are more effectively tackling child labour thanks to the GSP concession, a report issued by the European Commission's said.

This was highlighted in the European Commission's report published every two years on the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) which was released today.

The EU said the GSP concession helps the countries to tackle poverty and create jobs while also respecting sustainable development principles by creating additional export opportunities.

According to the latest report, exports to the European Union (EU) from developing countries using special tariff preferences under the GSP concession has reached a new high of €69 billion in 2018.
