The Government today informed all chemical fertilizer and pesticides traders to release their hidden stocks to the market, Government Information Director General Mohan Samaranayake said.
He said since the import of chemical fertilizer and pesticides had been banned by the Government, there is no point in keeping hidden stocks.
It was reported that fertilizer traders used to hide the early imported fertilizer stocks to sell them at a higher price.
Therefore, the traders were informed to release their hidden chemical fertilizer and pesticides stocks to the wholesale market. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
