Parliamentarian Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera who is engaged in a hunger fast for three days is in a good healthy condition, doctors said.
The doctors in the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital were engaged in checking from time to time the health condition of the monk who was fasting continuously from 11.00 a.m. on May 31 in the Udamaluwa of Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
The Anesthetist Specialist Saman Nanayakkara of Peradeniya Teaching Hospital advised the monk to drink the required quantity of water to refrain from dehydration.
In the meantime, the doctors said that his health condition would decline and get various disabilities and dehydration due to lack of food by June 6, although he is in a good health condition now.(Nadeeka Daya Bandara)
