The Nugegoda Magistrate's Court informed the Magazine Prison not to produce MP Ranjan Ramanayake, who is in remand custody, before the Government Analyst for a voice test today but to produce on another date when informed by court.
MP Ramanayake was to be presented before the Government Analyst for a voice test today according to the earlier court instructions.
The Government Analyst commenced investigations into the leaked telephone recordings of Ramanayake early last week.
MP Ramanayake was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) officers at his residence in Madiwala on January 14 following an arrest warrant issued by the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court on the MP.
AG directed the CCD Director to arrest MP Ramanayake after obtaining a warrant and produce him in court for alleged interference with the functions of the judges as revealed in his phone conversations. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
