Ranjan’s Parliamentary seat: CoA to issue order to respondents on April 5

The Court of Appeal has today decided to issue an order with regard to issuing notices to the respondents of the writ petition filed by former State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake seeking an injunction restraining him from losig his parliamentary seat on April 5.

The petition was heard by a two bench judges panel of Justices Ajuna Obeyesekere and Mayadunne Correa.

Earlier, Attorney-at-Law Suren Fernando appearing for petitioner Ranjan Ramanayake requested Court that his client, Mr. Ramanayake's imprisonment will reach three months on April 8 and hence, requested the Court to issue the above order before that date. (Yoshitha Perera)
