Railway strike postponed till tomorrow 2.00 pm

The Railway Trade Union Alliance (RTUA) today said they would postpone the 48-hour token strike till tomorrow 2.00 pm, which was scheduled to be launched from today midnight after they were informed of a discussion with the Finance Minister.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Locomotive Engine Operators' Union (LEOU) Secretary Indika Dodangoda said further actions would be taken depending on the outcome of the discussion.

The Railway Trade Union Alliance (RTUA) yesterday warned it would launch a 48-hour strike from today midnight over the failure to grant their demands including the rectification of salary anomalies. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
