Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa had been appointed as the Acting Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) until the end of the presidential election, SLFP Spokesperson MP Weerakumara Dissanayake said.
He said the decision was taken during yesterday's SLFP executive committee meeting held by party leader President Maithripala Sirisena at his official residence.
Professor Piyadasa has been appointed with immediate effect until the end of the Presidential Election 2019 and he would serve as Acting Chairman until November 17," he said.
