A superintendent attached to a Colombo Remand Prison was suspended for handing a mobile phone to a remand prisoner.
Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said the senior officer was suspended by the Chief Jailor of the prison on pending investigation.
He said the remand prisoner has testified that the mobile phone was given to him by the suspended officer.
