In response to reports being circulated on social media claming that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is pondering his resignation, President’s Spokesman Kingsly Rathnayake told Daily Mirror that such reports contain no truth and are baseless.
Several reports are being circulated on social media platforms that President Gotabaya is considering his resignation.
“The President is not a man who flees during time of crises of this nature but a man with determination and vision,” Rathnayake asserted.
He proceeded to say that the President is currently focusing on multiple issues faced by the general public and solutions to address those issues.
“These reports are being spread by various groups with the intention of sabotaging the President’s plans and thus, destabilizing his government,” Rathnayake added.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
