Presidential candidates should pledge to eliminate drugs: President

Whoever the candidates contesting for the forthcoming presidential election, they should pledge to eradicate narcotics, President Maithripala Sirisena said today in Polonnaruwa.

He said the candidates should also pledge to implement the death penalty for the drug dealers.

The President made this remarks after inaugurating a model village constructed at Dimbulagala in Polonnaruwa.
Minister of Housing and Construction Sajith Premadasa also attended the event.
