President instructs Security forces to eradicate underworld menace

President Maithripala Sirisena today instructed Police and Security forces to eliminate underworld activities which have spread across the country.

The IGP and Army Commander have been instructed to take necessary measures to eradicate the menace, the President’s office said.

“I will not allow criminals trouble peaceful citizens,” the President said speaking at an event at Abayarama Temple.     

Incidents which occurred during the past few days had injured and killed not just gang members but also innocent civilians.
