Current school curricula are outdated and they are not designed to fit the society, Education Minister G.L. Pieris said.

Addressing an event in Matara yesterday the Minister said the whole education system in the country had to be changed in order to help develop the personality of the children.

"A complete educational reform did not take place in the country in the past 20 years," he said.

Therefore, the Ministry had decided to launch a Digital Platform for Complete Education Reform on March 26, the Minister said.

"These educational reforms are being carried out for the benefit of the country. This is being done to engage different sections of the country - from the street worker to the President of the country," he said.

We have taken steps to create a digital platform instead of traditionally converting these reforms from conferences, the minister added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
