A power outage was experienced in the North, North Central and Eastern parts of the country due to a failure in the transmission system at the new Anuradhapura grid, Power and Energy Development Director and Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardena said.
He told the Daily Mirror that a power outage was reported around 7.00 pm.
He said work is underway to restore power supply. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
