President Rajapaksa has instructed Basnayaka Nilames and Diyawadana Nilames to organise this year's Peraheras and processions of main shrines and temples, giving priority to traditional and religious rituals as well as health guidelines.

The President said that the processions of the Kandy Dalada Maligawa and Kataragama, Devinuwara and Sabaragamuwa Temples should be conducted in accordance with health guidelines.

The President made this observation at a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon with the participation of the members of the Presidential Task Force for Combating Covid-19.
