BIA, Nov 29 (Daily Mirror)- Pastor Jerome Fernando arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning following a court order issued last week that directed authorities not to arrest him in connection with a controversial Sunday sermon.

Fernando, who had been under CID investigations for contentious remarks against Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism, left the country on May 15 this year.

In response to a writ petition filed by Pastor Jerome, the Court of Appeal last week issued an order directing police not to arrest him at the airport or anywhere else.

Additionally, the court instructed the Pastor to provide a statement to the CID within 48 hours of his arrival in the country.

He arrived at the Katunayake Airport early this morning from Doha by Qatar Airways flight and left the airport through the "Gold Route". Two other passengers too have reportedly arrived along with the pastor.
