UNP National Organizer and Nuwara Eliya District UNP candidate Navin Dissanayake said yesterday the next leader of the UNP should be elected through a secret ballot.
He told this to media after an election rally held in Minuwandeniya, Ginigathena yesterday.
“Secret vote is a democratic process. It is done according to party constitution without causing any rift within,” he said.
Mr. Dissanayake said Sajith Premadasa was elected as the deputy leader of the party in 2011 through a secret vote. (Ranjith Rajapaksa)
