Parliament to be dissolved tomorrow

The Parliament would be dissolved tomorrow midnight, Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said today.

"A new Government with a two-thirds majority should be elected at the General Election. It is only then can a constitutional amendment be made to save the country," he said.

He made this remark at a meeting of the Minuwangoda Sri Lanka Peoples Front Teachers Association held in Udugampola.

He said the country couldn’t be developed if the President and Prime Minister were not elected from the same political party.

“A stable Government could only be formed if both of them are from the same party,” he said.
